Candidate Statement:
I have served the state of North Carolina for over 30 years in various roles associated with the legal community. It was early in my career as a Probation Parole Officer, that I first realized my passion to help others in a way that was both fair and equitable while reinforcing accountability. That same commitment to fair-minded decision-making was later applied to my roles as an Assistant DA and as a Senior Associate Attorney with Mecklenburg County’s Department of Social Services. As an elected District Court Judge, I will adhere to the established rule of law while considering all matters in an impartial manner. I value the work ethic instilled in me by my parents who were of humble beginnings, as they stressed the importance of a strong education, but most importantly, treating people with respect and dignity. The justice system in the United States is an incredible forum and I look forward to applying my legal experience as a dedicated and committed public servant for the state of North Carolina.
